Room 5: The Late Gothic
The second room dedicated to the Late Gothic is marked by the crucifix on the left wall.
To the highest point of the Michele di Matteo art, between 1430 and 1435 – belongs the first Crucifix, maybe made for the St. Francis church, while the second one follows the same model, with bigger dimension.
The third Crucifx, which ends ths series, is atributed to Giovanni Martorelli.
Between the Crucifix we find some wooden tables: St. John the Baptist and St. Jerome, attributed to Giacomo di Nicola, from the Recanati Dome (1433), the Humility Madonna, maybe by the Florentine Maestro di Montefloscoli (1425 - 1430) and a St. Ubald by a pianter of the Marche school.
Two paintings are exemples of another master of the Bolognese Late Gothic style, Pietro di Giovanni Lianori, a Tryptich for the San Girolamo di Miramonte church and a Madonna enthroned with Child.
