Room 19: Early Mannerism
In this room can be found two wooden tables by Giovanni Battista Ramenghi, from Bagnacavallo (near Ravenna), called the Younger Bagnacavallo il Giovane, to be distuinguished from Bartolomeo: an Holy Conversation (Madonna enthroned with Child with Saints John Evangelist, John the Baptist, Francis, Claire, Mary Magdalene, and Catherine) and the Mistycal Marriage of St. Catherine.
The latter was attributed for many years to Pellegrino Tibaldi, one of the most representative painters of the late Emlian mannerism, here present with a fresco depicting Christ among the Pharisees.
A precious Last Supper by a young El Greco, is the last painting of the room.
