This room shows how the Bolognese art, at the end of the '600 and at the beginning of '700 continues witjout evident deviations through the pattern already indicated by the great masters of the ending century.

An exemple of this tradition are the paintings by Lorenzo Pasinelli, (like the Swoon of Julia), and by Giovan Gioseffo dal Sole, famous as decorator and intermediary between two painters generations with its virtuosism in the large monumental artworks.

Domenico Maria Canuti belongs to the same generation, typical representative of the best Bolognese Baroque school, working mostly in the scenographic decoration of palaces and churches, among whose even Palazzo Pepoli Campogrande.

Protagonista del nuovo secolo è Donato Creti, qui rappresentato da varie importanti composizioni.
