The short guided tours in English on the most representative works in the collections of the Pinacoteca Nazionale di Bologna.
The November meeting will provide a closer look at some of the most significant Emilian paintings of the 17th and 18th century. Guercino renewed the artistic path started in Bologna by the Carracci, Guido Reni, Albani and Domenichino, with masterpieces like The investiture of Saint William of Aquitaine and Saint Sebastian cured by Saint Irene. The 18th century begins with the ironic everyday life depicted in the Courtyard scene by Giuseppe Maria Crespi, and continues with The Seasons by Marcantonio Franceschini and the scenic Belshazzar's Feast by Vittorio Maria Bigari.
